Platform Specialist HP NonStop

We are seeking a skilled Database Specialist to join our team at SIX Payment Services. As a key member of our platform team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our database systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively process database change requests using scripting and documentation.
  • Analyze SQL query performance to optimize access in collaboration with development teams.
  • Configure and monitor database replication streams.
  • Plan and execute database migrations from development to production environments.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and script libraries for database operations.
  • Monitor application queues at server class level and take proactive measures to prevent issues.
  • Ensure database dimensioning and prevent table or disk overflow.
  • Participate in hardware capacity planning and expansion.
  • Support the release manager in creating rough schedules and optimize database deployment processes.
  • Maintain and evaluate MySQL databases and configuration files.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience with relational database systems (SQL, Access).
  • Experience in performance analysis of database queries and accesses.
  • Coaching and supporting development teams in database design and access optimization options.
  • Manage and extend script tool libraries using technologies such as DOS, BASH, and VisualBasic.
  • Knowledge of JAVA, C, and VisualBasic (optional).
  • Framework knowledge and experience with Jenkins and GIT, as well as the HPNS platform.
  • Collaboration in capacity planning of the platform and application.
  • Good written and spoken German and/or French, business fluent English skills.
