Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Worldline, a leading innovator in the payments technology industry. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the evolution of our company by designing, implementing, and maintaining our database systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively process database change requests, ensuring seamless integration with our Kanban board.
  • Analyze SQL query performance to optimize database access in collaboration with our DEV teams.
  • Configure and monitor database replication streams to ensure data consistency.
  • Plan and execute database migrations from development to production environments.
  • Develop and maintain our existing documentation and script library, TACL.
  • Monitor application queues at the server level to ensure optimal performance.
  • Dimension the FO application, including instance numbers and parallel operation.
  • Prevent table or disk overflow by defining measures with our system specialists.
  • Participate in hardware capacity planning and support the release manager in creating the rough schedule.
  • Optimize the database deployment process and maintain the MySQL database regarding changes or evaluations.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience with relational database systems, including SQL and Access.
  • Experience in performance analysis of database queries and accesses.
  • Coaching and supporting development teams in database design and access optimization options.
  • Managing, extending, and modernizing our script tool library using technologies like DOS, BASH, and VisualBasic.
  • Knowledge of JAVA, C, and VisualBasic is an advantage, as is experience with Jenkins, GIT, and the HPNS platform.
  • Collaboration in capacity planning of the platform and application.
  • Proficiency in German and/or French, with business fluent English skills.
