About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Specialist to join our team at Worldline. As a key member of our database team, you will be responsible for proactively processing database change requests, analyzing SQL query performance, and configuring database replication streams. Your expertise in database design, access optimization, and scripting will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our database systems.

Responsibilities

  • Proactive processing of database change requests according to the Kanban board
  • SQL query performance analysis and optimization in collaboration with DEV teams
  • Configuration and monitoring of database replication streams
  • Planning and execution of database migrations from DEV to PRD
  • Further development of existing documentation and script library (TACL)
  • Proactive monitoring of application queues at server class level
  • Dimensioning of the FO application (number of instances, parallel operation)
  • Ensuring no table or disk overflows, defining measures with system specialists
  • Participation in planning HW capacity expansions
  • Support for the release manager in creating the rough schedule
  • Optimization of the database deployment process
  • Maintenance of the MySQL database regarding changes or evaluations

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience with relational database systems (SQL, Access)
  • Experience in performance analysis of database queries and accesses
  • Coaching and supporting development teams in database design and access optimization options
  • Managing, extending, and modernizing the current script tool library using technologies such as DOS, BASH, VisualBasic
  • Technology knowledge of JAVA, C, VisualBasic (optional)
  • Framework knowledge/experience with Jenkins & GIT as well as the HPNS platform (an advantage)
  • Collaboration in capacity planning of the platform and application
  • Good written and spoken German and/or French, business fluent English skills required
