The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) seeks a highly skilled and dedicated Human Rights Officer to join its team in Geneva. As a key member of the Justice Protection and Social Rights Unit, you will play a vital role in promoting and protecting human rights worldwide.

Reporting to the Chief of the Special Procedures Branch, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to governments, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders on human rights issues. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing strategies to prevent human rights violations and promote respect for international human rights law.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in human rights, political affairs, or international relations. Your excellent analytical and problem-solving skills will enable you to navigate complex human rights challenges and develop effective solutions.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders at all levels.

A master's degree in law, political science, international relations, social sciences, or a related field is required. With a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in human rights, political affairs, or international relations, you will bring a deep understanding of the complexities of human rights issues and the ability to navigate diverse cultural contexts.

We offer a competitive salary of $105,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.
