Your RoleAs Portfolio Manager/Analyst - Thematic Equities at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, you will be focused on the Metals & Mining, Materials, Energy and adjacent cyclical sectors. Your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying high conviction stock ideas and conducting commodity market research
- Conducting portfolio management and risk management activities
- Creating thematic research publications and developing analytical tools for the broader Thematic Equities team
As a key member of our Thematic Equities team, you will be responsible for:
- Analyzing and selecting stocks in the Metals & Mining, Materials, Energy and adjacent cyclical sectors for a concentrated portfolio of high conviction ideas
- Conducting commodities market analysis and integrating it into equity views
- Discussing and presenting your investment cases to the equities team
- Co-managing a global thematic investment portfolio and contributing to idea generation across other investment funds
- Performing reporting and administrative tasks across investment strategies in an efficient and effective way
- Presenting to internal and external clients and driving effective investment strategy communication
- Developing analytical tools and improving existing processes
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with:
- A university degree in economics, finance or engineering
- Minimum 3-5 years of practical experience in the field of equity analysis covering at least one of the following sectors: Materials, Metals & Mining, Commodities, Chemicals or Energy
- Experience as a Portfolio Manager/Analyst in an Asset Management environment or as a sell-side equity analyst is a plus
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, as well as experience with Bloomberg
- Quantitative analysis experience and knowledge of Python or other programming languages will be considered as a plus
- Ability to work with various stakeholders as well as hands-on mentality
- Strong work ethics, integrity and high level of accountability
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
