Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Business Development Manager/Developer to lead all activities driving financial growth of our Electrical Safety Solutions Business Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a growth strategy for ESS, covering existing and new products for railway, renewable energy, and industrial applications.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a growth strategy for ESS, ensuring sustainable business growth.
  • Identify business opportunities and provide market insights to navigate the product roadmap and development activities.
  • Drive and support the Business Unit product line managers, product development, and sales team in developing product economics.
  • Develop and implement a growth strategy focused on growth and financial objectives, in collaboration with the sales organization.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify market opportunities in railway, industrial, and renewable energy applications.
  • Develop business cases for individual products, in cooperation with product line managers and the sales team.
  • Define, drive, and track the implementation of corresponding action plans, in collaboration with the sales team and product line managers.
  • Prepare product launch and market placement plans, in cooperation with marketing, sales, and product line managers.
  • Prepare and maintain a comparative analysis of competitors' products, to support the sales network's promotional efforts.
  • Prepare and organize key information for the business.
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients to develop business opportunities.
  • Provide market feedback to product development teams and after-sales support.
Requirements
  • Technical degree in electrical engineering or power electronics.
  • Further education in industrial product marketing/business administration desirable.
  • At least 10 years of experience as an international Business Developer in an industrial B2B environment.
  • Successful track record introducing power products to new clients, driving key people across the organization.
  • Proven working experience as a successful business development manager/developer on an international scale.
  • Good knowledge of at least one of the following industry sectors: high voltage, railway traction systems, power transmission & distribution, renewable energy, and e-mobility.
  • Interest and ability to understand DC and AC power systems and corresponding product needs.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to develop convincing communication strategies based on technical rationale.
  • Proven ability to think creatively, identify, and resolve problems.
  • Experienced in working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • High integrity and trustworthiness, open and transparent.
  • Open to frequent traveling.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, French, and/or German are desirable. Other languages are a plus.
