Job Title: Commissioning and Qualification Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Commissioning and Qualification (C&Q) Specialist to provide hands-on support in the commissioning and qualification of equipment and utility systems at our project site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Field Support: Provide hands-on commissioning and qualification support for process and utility systems, including:
  • Black and Clean Utility generation, storage, and distribution systems.
  • Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems in classified and non-classified areas.
  • Environmental Monitoring Systems.
  • Compounding and SIP/CIP systems.
  • Additional systems as required.
  • Testing & Protocol Execution: Execute and review commissioning and qualification test protocols (via KNEAT electronic documentation system) for:
  • Sequence of operation testing (start-up, hold, abort, stop, emergency stop).
  • Control loop tuning.
  • Pump and fan testing.
  • Alarm and interlock testing.
  • Identifying and resolving mechanical and electrical issues encountered during commissioning.
  • DeltaV System Integration: Support the commissioning and troubleshooting of DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS) software, hardware, and its integration with utility and process systems.
  • Ensure reliable system operation by providing troubleshooting for control and operational issues.
  • Field Execution & Safety: Ensure commissioning is conducted per Lonza standards and cGMP requirements.
  • Document and escalate any issues via KNEAT and propose timely project changes as necessary.
  • Oversee Lock-Out-Tag-Out preparation, RAMS preparation, PSHR completion, Method Statements, and start-up activities to ensure compliance with Lonza HSE standards.
  • Team Development & Support: Provide coaching and training to team members to enhance overall knowledge and expedite commissioning.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment, respecting diverse backgrounds and perspectives within the team.
Requirements:
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree or trade qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Process Control, or related fields).
  • 5-10 years of process commissioning experience, with a minimum of 3 years in utility system commissioning (preferred).
  • 3 years of hands-on experience in DeltaV DCS commissioning and troubleshooting (essential).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with DeltaV Operate/Live and Control Studio.
  • Experience in cGMP environments and familiarity with applicable regulatory requirements for the Life Sciences industry (desirable).
  • Experience using KNEAT for CQV test execution (desirable).
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent time management and the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Language & Communication: Fluency in English (spoken and written).
  • German proficiency is a plus.
  • Flexibility & Availability: Willingness to work shifts and extended hours as required, in compliance with working time regulations.
