Key Responsibilities

As a Robotics Technician at Leica Geosystems AG, you will be responsible for building novel robotic devices, from assembly of modules and accessories to constructing complete prototypes and kickstarting production phases.

You will also be responsible for maintaining a fleet of prototypes, participating in troubleshooting initiatives, and carrying out necessary repairs.

Additionally, you will actively engage in the assembly and integration testing of prototypes, implement these processes, and enhance future prototype production procedures in line with production priorities.

You will manage workshop operations and collaborate with the team to determine work priorities and carry out comprehensive verification testing on both subsystems and complete robotic systems.

Finally, you will support top-notch quality through systematic inspection and verification of components and assemblies based on engineering drawings and best practices.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Completed training as a Polymechanic EFZ, Automation Technician EFZ, or equivalent vocational training, with an FH-level production engineer qualification being an advantage.
  • Proven experience in mechanical assembly processes, including cabling, soldering, and general electronics handling.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a technician/mechanic working with complex mechatronic systems.
  • Self-organization skills, with the ability to determine daily tasks and prioritize them effectively.
  • Experience in understanding and following drawings for the assembly of electromechanical components.
  • Proficiency in the use of measurement and testing tools for mechatronic subsystems, with a plus for understanding ESD safety measures.
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural and evolving environment.
  • Basic computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in English, with German fluency (B2 or higher) being preferred.
