Transportation Planner

About the RoleWe are looking for a talented individual to join our dynamic team of transport planners who are responsible for planning and developing transportation infrastructure that connects people, places, and opportunities. As an Executive Transport Planner, you will be part of a collaborative team that works closely with other government agencies to identify, develop, and evaluate sustainable, efficient, and safe mobility initiatives and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement car-lite programs and initiatives to promote sustainable transportation options
- Design and supervise data collection activities to inform transportation planning decisions
- Analyze and interpret survey results to identify trends and patterns in transportation behavior
- Develop transportation network improvements proposals to enhance mobility and reduce congestion
- Forecast travel demand and assess community benefits to inform transportation planning decisions
- Work with stakeholders to identify and develop sustainable, efficient, and safe mobility initiatives and infrastructure
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Town/Urban Planning, Geography, or a related discipline
- Experience and knowledge in land use planning, transport planning, and/or public engagement
- Knowledge of modeling using EMME, VISSIM/VISUM, and/or SIDRA or other similar transportation models
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable with carrying out public engagement and working with stakeholders
- Team player with good time management and interpersonal skills
- Resourceful, meticulous, and detail-oriented
