Procurement Operations Manager for CSL Behring

Our company specializes in the manufacturing of biotherapeutic products, leveraging over a century of experience in treating various diseases worldwide. We are committed to patients suffering from blood clotting disorders, immunological diseases, enzyme deficiencies, and other rare pathologies.
In this role, you will manage the local procurement operations of the Bern manufacturing site. Your responsibilities will include ensuring timely availability of materials in the right quality and quantity to produce our life-saving products. This role is part of the Site Supply Chain leadership team and requires close collaboration with planning and logistics, as well as the global sourcing team or peers from other CSL Behring manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage activities related to the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
- Direct buyers to accomplish company objectives in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts, and long-term contracts with suppliers.
- Develop and maintain procurement analysis for key materials detailing price and supply trends, market trends, and future purchasing strategy.
- Lead materials cost reduction activities and communicate cost savings philosophy to staff.
- Serve as primary management contact and coordinate activities with internal stakeholders to address operational issues.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of goods/services.
- Contribute to systems and process improvement to deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness of service.
- Monitor and enforce compliance to the Global Sourcing and Procurement Policy.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business or a technical field.
- At least 7 years of experience in procurement/purchasing.
- Purchasing Management Certification (ISM/CPM).
- Strong leadership/mentoring skills with experience in team management.
- Demonstrated success in contract negotiations.
Language Skills: English and German
