Customs Brokerage Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Brokerage Specialist to join our team at World Courier Switzerland S.A. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and compliant clearance of goods through customs import/export operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with customs authorities to manage the customs process from start to finish.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations and laws.
  • Classify goods for customs declaration and calculate customs duties and taxes.
  • Prepare and submit customs declarations, advising customers on customs procedures.
  • Arrange for payment of duties and taxes, and enter charges into our Transport Management System (TMS).
  • Stay current with all special operating procedures (SOPs) and understand our company's customs regulations.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in customs procedures and regulations.
  • Customs & Trade compliance school would be a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Deep understanding of Swiss customs laws.
  • Fluency in English and one of our local languages (German, French, or Italian).
  • Effective oral and written communication, ability to prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and be a team player.
