Senior Cloud Solutions Architect

AWS EMEA SARL (Switzerland Branch) is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to join our team in Switzerland. This role will be part of an account team consisting of Account Managers, Technical Account Manager, and other Solutions Architects.

The ideal candidate will have a background in Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering, or DevOps, and a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.

The Senior Solutions Architect will be responsible for owning the technical relationship with customers, making recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability, operational efficiency, and best-practice architectures. This will also involve being an advocate for the customer, helping to drive continual improvements to the AWS platform, and sharing customer needs and wants to inform the roadmap of AWS services and features.

In addition, the successful candidate will help shape the future of the Solutions Architecture organisation by helping to hire, coach, and mentor others. This will involve participating in the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content, and new reference architectures, as well as evangelizing and educating about AWS technology through various channels.

The Senior Solutions Architect will work closely with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their business goals. They will also collaborate with internal teams to ensure that customer needs are met and that the Solutions Architecture organisation is aligned with business objectives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Background in Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering, or DevOps.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with business-fluent German and English.
• Passion for technology and for learning.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience designing, building, refactoring, or operating IT systems either on premises or in the cloud.
• Working knowledge of cloud-native architectures.
• Working knowledge of multiple technology domains, such as distributed internet-scale web or mobile applications, DevOps, Serverless, Big Data, analytics, Machine Learning, enterprise workloads, high-performance databases, complex networking implementations, highly secured workloads, etc.
• Experience working in a customer-facing role.
• Experience working in or with regulated organizations or with the Education sector.
