About the Role

ING is a leading universal bank with a global presence, operating across multiple continents and countries. As a Senior Credit Risk Officer, you will play a key role in reinforcing our Credit Risk team in Switzerland.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Credit Risk team. As a Senior Credit Risk Officer, you will be responsible for analyzing credit applications, providing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with our credit policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform in-depth analysis of credit applications, including financial analysis, business risk, structure risk, and country risk.
  • Share risk appetite with account management to maintain a common risk culture and provide guidance on structuring facilities.
  • Maintain an active dialogue with account management on portfolio management, client development, and upcoming proposals.
  • Provide written credit opinions to local and global decision makers, highlighting key risks, mitigants, and suggestions for improvement.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of credit applications and check compliance with ING's credit policies.
  • Hold an alternate decision-making mandate for reviews and applications.
  • Review legal documentation in consultation with Legal and ensure post-approval follow-up and reviews/approvals of risk ratings.
  • Participate in projects and deliverables, including reporting and audits.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in accounting, finance, economics, or international business, with CFA preferred.
  • At least 8 years of banking experience, with at least 5 years in a credit risk or similar function.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate banking concepts, loan documentation, and credit analysis.
  • Good knowledge of trade finance, payment and cash management, debt capital markets, financial markets, and lending products.
  • Very high degree of integrity.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Displays seniority and persuasiveness.
  • Fluent in English, and preferably French or German.
  • Ability to work independently and willingness to travel regularly to Geneva.
