Job Description

This position involves working on the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) project, which requires advanced planning and optimization from a radiological perspective to ensure the protection of personnel and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform radiation protection simulations using FLUKA Monte Carlo simulations
  • Assess induced activation in LHC and HL-LHC beamline elements using ActiWiz code
  • Conduct radiological studies for the design of new HL-LHC beam dumps and support decommissioning of current operational dumps
  • Regularly report to supervisor and produce reports and technical notes
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge of radiation physics and radiation protection
  • Experience with Monte Carlo simulation codes for radiation transport (preferably FLUKA)
  • Programming and data analysis skills in Python or other languages
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in radiation physics and radiation protection. You should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Physics or Energy/Nuclear Engineering.
