Business Development Manager for Pharmaceutical Partnerships

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. As a key player in pharmaceutical partnerships, you will cultivate and nurture relationships with innovative companies, positioning us as the preferred CDMO partner for their peptide and small molecule API development needs.
You will drive business growth by identifying new potential clients based on technologies within our network, developing and implementing territory plans to support sales targets, and building strong relationships with new clients in assigned regions. Additionally, you will increase our brand awareness through industry trade shows and customer visits.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the business intelligence group to identify new potential clients and develop targeted strategies.
- Develop and implement territory plans to achieve sales targets and expand our market share.
- Build relationships and drive business growth with new clients in assigned regions, ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders and meeting KPIs.
- Increase our brand awareness through industry trade shows and customer visits.
- Focus on early-stage opportunities between pre-clinical to Phase 2b/3 with biotech and innovative pharmaceutical companies.
- Work closely with the program management team to maximize proposal win rates and ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain high-level relationships with customers, act as single point of contact for business needs, and communicate progress and risks regularly.
- Support strategic initiatives by providing market insights to business teams and governance processes.
About You
The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical CDMO Business Development or Key Account Management, with a specialization in peptides and small molecules. They possess B2B experience in the CDMO sector and hold a Master of Science in Chemistry, preferably with a PhD in Organic Chemistry or an MBA. The candidate demonstrates strong negotiation and leadership skills, executive presence, and the ability to influence others, effectively communicating across all organizational levels.
