Chief Metabolic Therapies Innovation Officer

We are seeking a Chief Metabolic Therapies Innovation Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing research organization focused on cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. This role will have a significant impact on our ability to deliver innovative treatments to patients worldwide.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. or Ph.D./M.D. in a relevant field, combined with 15+ years of experience in CVM research, and a proven track record in discovery and preclinical development. They will be a recognized scientific expert in the field of CVM with a strong publication record. Key skills include:
- Strategic thinking and leadership
- Exceptional VACC (Visionary, Architect, Catalyse, Coach) leadership experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment

Responsibilities:
- Oversee research management to identify and validate new therapeutic targets and pathways
- Stay current with the latest scientific advancements and technological innovations in CVM research to integrate cutting-edge approaches into the discovery pipeline
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team to develop groundbreaking therapies that improve the lives of patients worldwide
- Represent Roche externally at scientific conferences and meetings
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive collaborative research efforts
- Ensure all research activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements and ethical standards
