Geneva Head of Onboarding and Periodic Reviews

Our Financial Crime Compliance Department is seeking an experienced leader to join and lead the Geneva Onboarding & Periodic Reviews team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in compliance and risk management, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and driving operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Geneva Onboarding & Periodic Reviews team, fostering a positive culture and promoting collaboration and operational excellence.
  • Define objectives and manage performance, including effective appraisal and skills development.
  • Manage workload, assign priorities, and monitor progress of the workflow.
  • Act as the main contact person for the local Head of Private Banking for onboarding & periodic reviews matters.
  • Prepare comprehensive compliance analysis and recommendations for account opening and periodic reviews.
  • Present cases of higher risk to the Client Acceptance Committee, providing relevant risk assessments and compliance recommendations.
  • Advise and support the front office on matters relating to Financial Crime Risk and agreement on the Swiss banks' code of conduct.
  • Assess clients' tax transparency risk, including FATCA and CRS forms.
  • Manage other requests, such as enquiries from other departments/third parties, transactions approval, or else.
  • Support the implementation of new systems and tools.
  • Propose process, system, and policy improvements.
  • Escalate potentially suspicious issues to the Financial Intelligence Unit or any relevant stakeholders.
  • Support tasks related to internal and external audits or specific projects upon request.

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years prior experience in compliance roles in the Financial Crime Compliance areas with strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of current sanctions regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Professional English required. Swiss National languages and any additional language a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and act with integrity.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Superior attention to detail to ensure high-quality files.
  • Must be a strong communicator, resolve conflict, and capable of expressing oneself clearly both speaking and in writing.
  • Possess a robust collaborative personality and be open to suggestions.
