We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD candidate to join our team at Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH) and the University of Twente. As a researcher in AI for finance, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects focused on data science, AI, and machine learning applications in finance.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Conduct research and development in AI for finance, working closely with industry and academic experts from Switzerland and abroad.
  • Collaborate with our team to design and implement innovative solutions for real-world problems in finance.
  • Participate in a specialized training program on Digital Finance, created at the European level by a consortium of leading industry and academic experts.
  • Work on industry-relevant topics in AI for finance, with topics subject to change.
  • Spent at least 18 months in industry, with expected placements at the European Central Bank and the Bank for International Settlements.
What You'll Bring
  • A Master's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, Computational Science, or related fields.
  • A strong passion and outstanding skills in data science and experience working with programming languages and statistical software such as Python, R, C++.
  • Knowledge on quantitative modeling of financial markets, econometric techniques, machine learning, or quantitative empirical research methods.
  • The ability to work on real-world problems in an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented environment.
  • Good communication skills and an excellent command of English.
