We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our IT Department's Systems & Storage team at Swissquote Bank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable and secure Linux-based systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Implement Infrastructure: Develop and implement scalable and secure Linux-based systems and infrastructure to meet the needs of our business.
- System Administration: Perform regular system updates, patches, and configuration changes to ensure the stability and security of our systems.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to prevent downtime and ensure high availability.
- Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with engineers to ensure systems are designed to meet business needs and develop and maintain documentation for system architecture and processes.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability, and meet our RTO/RPO objectives.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for Linux-related issues and automate system administration tasks using frameworks such as Ansible or Terraform.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a senior engineering role.
- Complex Environment Management: Proven experience in managing complex IT environments and contributing to large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Alternate Industry Experience: Extensive experience in alternate industries such as telco, manufacturing, aviation, or pharmaceutics.
- Server Infrastructure: Strong understanding of server infrastructure, cloud computing, SAN, NAS, and DAS, storage and distributed storage architecture.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working with multi-functional technical and business teams, along with different levels of management to influence decision making.
- Infrastructure as Code: Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling (puppet, ansible, terraform, etc.).
- Containerization: Experience with LXC, KVM, VMWare, proxmox, containerd, podman.
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, Rust,.Net, C, C++, Perl, Ruby, or Go.
- Kubernetes: Familiarity with Kubernetes Infrastructure management (Juju/MaaS/CDK, openshift, foreman).
- Linux Certifications: Linux certifications such as RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer), LPIC (Linux Professional Institute Certification), or equivalent.
- Network Architecture: Strong knowledge of network architecture and cybersecurity. Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP and other network protocols.
- ITIL Processes: Experience with ITIL processes and frameworks.
