About CERN

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter – fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light.

The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature.

CERN has 13 member states and an annual budget of CHF 1 billion.

Job Summary

This Mechanical Engineering Technician position will support the upgrade and maintenance of the CMS detector and its infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical tasks, including heavy lifting operations, assembly, installation, alignment, and repair of mechanical components.

Additionally, they will participate in the creation and modification of technical drawings under the guidance of engineers.
