Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team at Michael Page. As a Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting our arbitration and litigation teams by maintaining accurate and up-to-date case files, preparing complex legal documents, and providing exceptional administrative support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, including organizing and filing documents and exhibits, preparing correspondence with the Tribunal and opposing counsel, and managing time-sensitive requests.
  • Support to International Offices: Provide administrative support to our offices based in Geneva and other countries, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Preparation and Hearing Support: Assist Partners and Counsels with preparation of materials for each day of the hearing, including cross-examinations and witness bundles, while completing various time-critical requests from the team.
  • Liaison to Clients: Act as a liaison to our clients for the Partners and Associates, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Submissions and Filings: Work towards deadlines and assist the team with filings of various submissions under arbitral institutions such as ICSID, ICC, and PCA.
  • Pre-Filing Assistance: Perform substantive cite-checking, extensive formatting, and proofreading of submission documents and accompanying exhibits.
  • General Secretarial Duties: Carry out daily general secretarial duties, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and maintaining office supplies.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience as a Secretary or Paralegal in a Law firm, ideally in the litigation and/or arbitration department.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification: Certification in Paralegal Studies or Legal Administration is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and legal research databases, with familiarity with case management software and electronic filing systems.
  • Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy. French or German is a plus.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate needs and offer solutions.
