Digital Product Owner for API Platform

About the Role

As a Product Owner for the API Platform at Bitcoin Suisse, you will assume end-to-end responsibility for this channel, which is used by key clients to establish an efficient connection from their systems to our products. Via the API Platform, clients can trade, stake, view transactions, and balances. We need to react quickly to changing market demands in the fast-paced crypto space, so we believe in agile project management methodologies and empowering teams.

Your Responsibilities

  • Drive vision and strategy for our public API Platform serving our primarily corporate target audience.
  • Actively drive and support onboarding of clients on our public API platform, ensuring their satisfaction with the API Platform.
  • Develop and manage the product development backlog for the in-house API systems team.
  • Ensure maintenance and drive further development for our GraphQL layer, which feeds various end-user interfaces with data, and collaborate with frontend teams to optimize backend-for-frontend architectures.
  • Manage and deliver to the expectations of key stakeholders in your product environment (clients, relationship managers, compliance, marketing, and peripheral systems).
  • Ensure maintenance of internal services that are peripheral to the GraphQL layer or client API Platform.
  • Support clients and client relationship managers in production-related issues as a second-level support function for the API platform, GraphQL layer, and other services within your responsibility.
  • Manage the defining and delivery of development Epics that require support from multiple teams.

Your Qualifications

  • Experience in requirements engineering (creation of mockups, writing of documentation, specifying product backlog items, and business process documentation via flowcharts).
  • Exposure to agile product management frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and design thinking).
  • Experience in working with development teams and other technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with REST API design principles and API integration or documentation tools such as Postman or Swagger.
  • You are a great communicator: you can get your thoughts across precisely and are tuned in to the respective stakeholders you are communicating with, and you are also an attentive listener.
  • At minimum 2 years of experience as a product manager, product owner, or business analyst with exposure to client-facing products.
  • Ideally, you have experience working with a microservice-based systems landscape.
  • Preferably, experience in the financial industry, managing API interface products for internal or client stakeholders.
  • Previous technical experience as a software developer or basic software development skills are a plus but not required.
