**About the role**
We are looking for a highly motivated intern who recently received a M.Sc. degree with a strong scientific drive and interest in cell culture technologies & gene therapy. The intern will advance our adeno-associated viral vectors (AAV) manufacturing platform using cell line engineering tools.
Preferred start date: February - March 2024
Duration: 10 months
Key responsibilities:
- Perform state-of-the-art HEK (stable) cell line engineering/generation activities to boost AAV titers by utilizing cutting-edge gene editing & RNAi technologies
- Evaluate and improve essential components for the production of AAVs
- Execute AAV productions and determine quality by ddPCR, Western Blot and ELISA
- Support cell & molecular biology characterization of engineered cell lines using appropriate methods such as flow cytometry, NGS & qPCR
- Document experiments using electronic lab book and according to line function requirements
- Analyze and collect experimental data & present scientific interpretation in internal meetings

**Role Requirements**
- Recent Master graduate (up to 6 months) with a degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or similar
- Proficient in English (written and spoken)
- Experience in cell culture, desirable HEK (suspension) cell culture
- Excellent team player
Desirable requirements:
- Good experience in the production of adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) is of advantage
- Experience in ddPCR, ELISA, gene editing techniques, RNAi and FACS is of advantage
