Postdoctoral Researcher in In Vitro Kidney Model Development

Job Opportunity
The Bio Engineering Laboratory & Novartis is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in the development of innovative in vitro kidney models. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new cell-culture platforms and tissue models that mimic the kidney microenvironment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize in vitro kidney models using stem-cell-derived renal cells
- Characterize the functional properties of the developed models to ensure their accuracy and reliability
- Collaborate with engineers and biologists to integrate the models with microfluidics, optical microscopy, and biochemical assays
- Contribute to the development of novel therapeutic strategies and preclinical testing protocols
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Biology, Physiology, or a related field
- Experience with advanced in vitro models, transport across epithelial and/or endothelial barriers, and organoid differentiation and culture
- Strong background in kidney physiology and pathophysiology, as well as molecular biology techniques
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment
- Fluency in English (oral and written)
