**Project Context and Scope**

The Consultant - Data and Insights Communications Coordinator will collaborate with
cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals, provide guidance on data
utilization, and enhance staff analytical skills through training workshops. The Consultant will
stay abreast of trends, develop data systems, and ensure seamless integration with existing
infrastructure to drive informed decision-making.

**Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing**:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Department of Media and Communications,
the Consultant - Data and Insights Communications Coordinator will spearhead the design,
implementation, and analysis of data collection exercises to optimize communication strategies
at IOM.

**_ Core Functions / Responsibilities:_**

**Tasks to be performed under this contract**

1. Design and conduct regular data collection exercises to gather statistics on various
communication channels, audience engagement, and campaign performance.

2. Analyze collected data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform communication
strategies and decision-making processes.

3. Produce comprehensive reports and presentations outlining key findings and
recommendations for optimizing communication strategies.

4. Collaborate closely with departments, including communication teams, program managers,

5. Provide guidance and support to colleagues on utilizing data and insights to improve their
communication activities.

6. Develop training materials and conduct workshops to enhance the data literacy and analytical
skills of communication team members.

7. Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in data analysis and communication
strategies, and disseminate knowledge within the organization.

8. Develop and implement systems for collecting, storing, and analyzing data relevant to
communication activities.

9. Collaborate with IT and relevant departments to ensure seamless integration of data systems
with existing infrastructure.

**Performance indicators for evaluation of results**
- Timely and accurate collection of relevant communication data.
- Delivery of insightful reports and presentations that inform strategic decision-making.
- Successful implementation of data-driven communication strategies resulting in measurable

impact.
- Positive feedback from internal stakeholders on the support and guidance provided in utilizing

data for communication activities.
**_ Required Qualifications and Experience:_**

**Education, experience and/or skills required**
- Master’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Statistics, Data Science, or related field from

an accredited academic institution; or
- Bachelor's degree in the above fields from an accredited academic institution.

**Experience**
- Experience working in an international or multicultural environment is desirable
- Proven experience in data analysis, preferably in a communications or marketing context.

**Skills**
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and software.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable

insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information

in a clear and concise manner.
- Knowledge of migration issues and/or humanitarian work is an asset.

**Languages**

IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish. All staff members are required to be
fluent in one of the three languages.

For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of another
official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process,
which may include written and/or oral assessments.

**Notes**

The consultant must adhere to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Data
Protection Principles (IN/138) and maintain confidentiality.

The consultant will be responsible to follow IOM writing guidelines and latest glossaries in all
given assignments for accurate translation.
