On behalf of our client, a large bank in Zürich, we are looking for a Product Owner Markets.
**Location**: Zürich, Altstetten
**Start date**: ASAP
**End date**: 31.07.2024 + extension
**Job description**
Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Market Data Platform Product Owner to take ownership of the market data platform within the markets area. As the Market Data Platform Product Owner, you will play a critical role in defining the vision, strategy, and implementation of the market data platform, ensuring its alignment with business needs and technological capabilities. This position operates in a SAFe Agile environment, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
**Responsibilities**:
- Review the existing market data platform that provides live and historic data to data users of trading, sales, and execution.
- Evaluate the usage of market data within the markets department.
- Assess the market data entitlement platform and associated workflows.
- Define the approach for internal market data providers, determining how they deliver and distribute data within the Markets department.
- Propose a target setup for market data distribution within the markets department, aligned with market data experts in business management and procurement, and fulfilling the needs of market data users.
- Take ownership to enhance the current market data setup and implement new setup components in accordance with the defined target setup, closely collaborating with all relevant stakeholders.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's university degree in Finance, Business Administration, IT, or another financial industry-related field.
- At least 10 years of work experience in the financial industry.
- Essential market data related experience and skills:
- Experience in strategic market data platform topics, including business vision, IT architecture vision, and implementation experience.
- Knowledge of market data vendor integration and market data API.
- Experience in live data analytics and data monitoring.
- Technical knowledge in low-latency data distribution and high-performance database configuration.
- Market data platform-related programming skills (C++, Erlang, SQL, Streambase, RabbitMQ, JAVA, VBA, etc.) are a plus.
- Familiarity with market data management, including market data vendor management, display & non-display data, and market data entitlement management, is a plus.
- General experience in product management and project management, with an analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Solution-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and dependencies.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner in managing product backlogs, user stories, and familiarity with agile methodologies. Knowledge of product management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
