We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager, responsible for the Operations function in Zurich, providing support to wider European operations, the Board, Management team and relevant Stakeholders in their respective roles.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:
Manage the Operations function including the following:

- Oversee and monitor the production and review of key reports - the weekly underwriting Exception Reports, and Management Information (MI) for Underwriting Committee;
- Oversee the production, review and update of the Eclipse (underwriting system) user manual including the Eclipse User Training;
- Coordinate the production, annual review and update of all class of business underwriting manuals and underwriting operations guidelines;
- Oversee and coordinate the production, annual review and update of all Underwriting Authorities;
- Oversee the Period Close process working closely with Underwriting, IT, Claims and Finance teams in order to close the month/ quarter/year;
- Partner in the annual audit process;
- Manage all ad-hoc operational matters.

Providing Oversight and Management of Underwriting support functions and claims with a focus on operational processes and controls and working closely with the CEO (SIIS AG), Local CUO’s (SIIS AG and SEUAL) to ensure the following:

- Data entry and processing accuracy for all underwriting and claims;
- Oversee the post bind policy issuance processing and invoicing;
- Oversee the Premium collection, including monitoring of aged debt process;
- Ensure adherence to controls, accuracy and best practices;
- Ensure all SLA and KPIs are being met by the team.

Manage the Financial Operations/ Coverholders operational processes and controls working closely with the relevant team member to:

- Oversee the financial operations of settled direct business;
- Oversee the data entry and processing for all Starr Company Coverholders;
- Oversee adherence to the Delegated Authority Control Framework, and processes and controls including but not limited to due diligence, approval and audit;
- Manage aged debt and excess cash. Be an escalation point for all unresolved issues

Other:

- Work alongside IT to lead, and manage, operational and business projects ensuring on-time and on-budget deliveries and that the business benefits are realised.
- Be a champion of change, and change governance, ensuring that the business continues to meet internal and external requirements.
- Work alongside Senior Management team on any ad-hoc tasks.
- Support the Board with oversight of the Business Continuity Planning.
- Oversee staff and resource to ensure appropriateness in terms of skills and performance.
- Oversee that direct reports design, implement and keep up to date and effective procedural manuals for all underwriting and operational areas detailing systems and controls and monitor the team’s performance and compliance against these procedures.
- Operate within standards outlined in the Group and entities’ policies.
- Immediately report any suspicion of financial crime to the Money Laundering Officer.
- Comply with the entities’ standards for Conduct Risk Framework.
- Ensure that potential conflicts of interest are properly managed in order to avoid any disrepute to the Group or the entities.
- Immediately report complaints to Compliance.

**Role Holder Specification**:
**Experience**:

- 8-10 years’ of relevant experience;
- Zurich market processing arrangements for premiums and claims;
- Sound appreciation of the global insurance and reinsurance markets;
- Reinsurance practices;
- Solvency II and/or Swiss Solvency Test (SST);
- Underwriting Business Planning and Forecasting;
- Underwriting processes, controls and systems;
- Exception reporting processes and protocols;
- Quality assurance processes;
- Process efficiency analysis & assessment
- Claims processing;
- Key metrics, goals and targets; and
- Company culture and team practices.

**Skills**:

Systems & I.T:

- Microsoft Office: advanced Excel, intermediate level of understanding in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Optional Eclipse knowledge, as well as Data Warehouse and Document Management Systems

Qualifications:

- Relevant Bachelors level education.

**Salary**: CHF100,000.00 - CHF120,000.00 per year
