The Alliance is dedicated to advancing a conscious, quality-oriented approach to planning, construction and management of buildings, infrastructure, public spaces and landscapes. This collaborative effort builds on the objectives, values and principles of the
Davos Declaration 2018
and the
Davos Baukultur Quality System (DBQS)
, which applies eight criteria for creating well-designed places with an emphasis on cultural context and human-centered design. The Alliance aims to foster public-private collaboration to raise awareness of the cultural, social, economic, environmental and technical issues while preserving historical and cultural characteristics.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
Breakdown of Responsibilities
1. Community Management- Help establish the secretariat for the Davos Alliance, managing its day-to-day operations and activities.- Attract new Alliance members from the public and private sector in collaborate with the Swiss Federal Office of Culture and other key stakeholders.- Support the Alliance’s chair and the steering committee, namely planning, preparation and follow-up of their meetings.- Develop and implement an annual working program for the Alliance, in coordination with the Alliance’s steering committee.- Develop and manage engagement plans to define areas of shared interest, establish clear expectations, and grow the Forum’s collaboration with partner companies, governments and organizations.
2. Communications- Manage and guide communication efforts for the Alliance, including the Alliance's website and promotion on social media etc., in coordination with the Swiss Federal Office of Culture.- Collaborate with initiative teams to document and share key milestones, outcomes and impact stories related to our work with our network of partners as well as with a broader global audience of key stakeholders.- Develop and deliver outcome-oriented communications strategies that translate our work into compelling narratives and help mobilize to broad, collective action through a combination of op-eds, media briefings, press releases, social media posts, videos and other tools.
4. Events and Operations- Coordinate and help support related activities of the Alliance’s members.- Collaborate with the Forum’s events team to help organize and manage high-profile events, workshops and meetings (both virtual and in-person) with key stakeholders and global leaders.
Requirements and Experience- Master's degree in urban development, urban planning, urban design, architecture, or a related field, preferred.- 6+ years of professional experience working on urban issues. Deep understanding of how local and/or national governments work, including prior experience leading initiatives with local or national governments and/or working on public-private collaborations.- Knowledge and appreciation of European efforts related to Baukultur, and complementary initiatives globally- Strong writing skills, ideally including work with media and/or high-profile public initiatives- Hands-on experience developing and managing complex project and communities, including interacting with executive leaders and helping to turn ideas into tangible action and impact- Outstanding command of written and spoken English; knowledge of other languages would be an asset but is not required- Strong familiarity with MS Office Suite and project management tools is highly preferred, familiarity with Salesforce a plus.
