**Position Summary**:
Apellis is seeking a passionate and strategic pricing and market access expert for the role of International Director, Value, Access and Policy (VA&P). The main responsibility is to lead the roll-out of pegcetacoplan pricing and market access strategy in International regional and support local Head of VA&P on the development and execution of local strategy to ensure a successful launch. In this role, the individual will also ensure the successful implementation of market access tactics in the International region through appropriate research design, project management, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of evidence and communication of value messages for pegcetacoplan, focusing primarily on Geographic Atrophy (GA) and later on Apellis pipeline. In addition. The Director, VA&P will play a critical role on supporting local Value and access teams during the preparation of HTA/ reimbursement dossiers, customization of economics models, execution of evidence generation studies and providing strategic and technical expertise during pricing and reimbursement negotiation. The Director, VA&P will be leading the support of distributors on Value, Access and Policy activities on emerging markets by providing all the relevant value tools for the development of reimbursement dossiers outside Europe and Australia/New Zealand. This role requires the individual to collaborate cross-functionally at Global and regional level with individuals and teams in pricing and market access, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Medical Affairs, Marketing, and other allied functions in demonstrating and leveraging the value proposition of Apellis’ products.

**Key Responsibilities Include**:

- Lead roll-out regional market access strategy, value tools, HEOR data and ensure local implementation in Apellis affiliates
- Collaborate with Regional and Local VA&P teams to support recurring payer reimbursement reviews and to evaluate country price exceptions to global pricing corridors and policies
- Train and support local value and access/HE local teams in customization of economic models for inclusion in reimbursement dossiers
- Contribute to the development of affiliate tools including value dossiers, models, and calculators for submission to reimbursement authorities and formulary committees
- Being the point of contact for market access with distributors, communicate and train on market access strategy to ensure optimal launch in markets without Apellis affiliates
- Lead Mock-HTA and negotiation training across the international region to prepare local teams to successful submissions and to achieve target prices in the markets
- Assess Real World Evidence, Managed Entry Agreements, pricing re-negotiations requirements and develop post-marketing evidence strategy
- Lead the implementation of managed entry agreements and develop of evidence plan post-launch
- Be responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of the payer value generation and tender and/or direct purchase strategies, working cross-functionally with marketing, government/policy and medical affairs experts dependent on solution to create holistic strategies.
- Map external payer and funder environment and communicate to internal stakeholders and senior management relevant information regarding the current and future reimbursement landscape of key markets.
- Responsible for evaluating threats and opportunities in key markets rising out of legislation, policies and regulation from WHO, MOH/government and/or private payers as well as competitive market access moves that can impact access of Apellis products and pipeline and proactively develop strategies and plans to address the evolving reimbursement environment.
- Deliver evidence planning to expand reimbursement to adjacent patient segments and new markets
- Be responsible for integrating pricing, payer research, health economic and epidemiology information to develop the optimal value strategy
- Support Areas/Affiliates in addressing market access, price and reimbursement challenges
- Take budgetary responsibility for defining and managing the market access discretionary budgets, ensuring that spending is managed effectively throughout the year and to plan

**Education, Registration & Certification**:

- Requires Bachelor’s degree
- A Masters’ Degree in a relevant discipling is preferred (e.g. Ph.D., Pharm D, MD, or M.Sc. in Epidemiology, Health Economics, Public Health or Health Policy).
- A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry (global, regional or operating company level) with a focus in Epidemiology, Health Economics, Market Access is required

**Skills, Knowledge & Abilities**:

- Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of the European health care systems and financing mechanisms
- Demonstrated leadership ability to successfully work across functional and geographic boundaries, preferably across multiple countries/market type
