ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT
The Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) is responsible for the organization and coordination of the work of the Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) of the Union which deals mainly with ICT-focused development policies, strategies and programmes, as well as technical cooperation activities, to promote digital inclusion and drive digital transformation at community, country and regional levels. To effectively and efficiently serve the needs of ITU members, BDT is organized into four functional areas:
- Office of the Deputy to the Director and Field Operations Coordination Department
- Partnerships for Digital Development Department
- Digital Networks & Society Department
- Digital Knowledge Hub Department
**TERMS OF REFERENCE**:
- Under the supervision of the Cybersecurity Coordinator and Women in Cyber Project Manager, the consultant will be key in making this program a success from planning to online event management and post event follow-up. More specifically the consultant will:
- Provide general support and project management to the programme leads.
- Develop the materials for the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of the mentorship program, including but not limited to guides, methodologies, curricula, evaluation forms, and reports.
- Support coordination with partners, regional stakeholders, speakers, communication with and between mentors and mentees, (matching, arrange meetings/conference calls, note taking/summaries, follow-ups/reminders, newsletter).
- Support the communications function by drafting news-pieces, presentations and updating/editing of event collateral. Maintenance and editing of online website and events (collect bios, profile photos, sponsor’s logos, company profiles, quality checks, etc.).
- Support activities of the programme related to any other WiC initiative by drafting background documentation, concept notes and meeting minutes.
- Perform other tasks as required.
**CONCRETE DELIVERABLES**:
- A database of the cohort mentors and their assigned mentees.
- A complete set of guides and instructions on How to Run the ITU WiC mentorship Programme.
- A comprehensive curriculum leveraging existing materials from partners.
- Successful planning, promotion, and organization of the mentorship programme.
- End of programme report.
- Documentation related to other initiatives under Women in Cyber.
**COMPETENCIES**:
Good communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. Excellent research, analysis and summarizing skills.
**REMUNERATION INFORMATION**:
195 USD daily rate
**QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:
**Education**:University degree in relevant fields.
**Experience**: At least three years of progressively responsible experience.
**Languages**: English at advanced level.
**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**:
ITU is seeking a programme officer to support the organization of the Women in Cyber programme. The mentorship programme will run in several regions and aims at encouraging more women to be involved in cybersecurity by matching mentors and mentees in order to set goals, share expertise, organize knowledge-sharing workshops and events.
