This position is located within the Sri Lanka accountability project (the Project) in the Field Operations and Technical Cooperation Division (FOTCD) of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva, under the overall supervision of the Head/Senior Legal Officer of the Project.

Description du poste

Within delegated authority, the Associate Interpreter/ Translator will be responsible for the following duties:

- Provides accurate translation/ interpretation from/to Sinhala as required, including in interviews and meetings conducted as part of the project.
- May check verbatim records of meetings services to ensure that there is no significant difference between the interpreted and original language versions of speeches and statements that have been recorded.
- Assists in the production of accurate and verbatim translation of written and oral statements, media articles and other documents from English to Sinhala and vice versa as required.
- Supports as necessary the outreach programme of the project.
- Participates in field missions.
- Performs other related duties as required
