General Description:
We are looking for an experienced accountant to join our European finance team. This is a key position for an experienced, ambitious finance professional whom is motivated to contribute to setting up the European finance function as BeiGene builds out its presence around the world. The position will deal with a broad range of accounting and controlling topics across various countries. The incumbent must bring strong US GAAP and local GAAP knowledge combined with hands on experience of SAP (4HANA a strong plus). The incumbent must have a willingness to deal with both strategic issues as well as a hands-on approach to daily transactional items. Strong communication and cultural sensitivity are required in order to coordinate the activities of outsourced services and collaborate with colleagues in the US, Europe and Asia. As a valuable resource to the organization the incumbent is pro-active and brings strong analytical - and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a non-structured environment.

Essential Functions of the job:

- Lead the accounting processes for selected EU entities. This includes (but is not limited to) o Daily operation of the accounts payable processes
- Daily operation of the accounts receivable process
- Coordinate correct accounting of international commercial and clinical activities (revenue, gross to net, cost accounting, receivables)
- Ensure GL accuracy and completeness (Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses)
- Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.
- Lead the accounting process for the EU entities jointly with BeiGene’s 3rd party service providers
- Execute and coordinate timely, accurate and complete accounting and settlement of all intercompany transactions.
- Prepare VAT declarations.
- Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns.
- Develop into the resident SAP expert.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts for all EU entities.
- Assist business partners with all practical aspects of the Procure to Pay cycle.
- Execute operational treasury activities as required
- Assist with the creation of new legal entities.
- Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
- Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
- Assist with SOX compliance and management of material control audits.
- Miscellaneous projects as they arise.
