**Organizational Context**:

- The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, with a network of 192-member National Societies. The overall aim of IFRC is “to inspire, encourage, facilitate, and promote at all times all forms of humanitarian activities by National Societies with a view to preventing and alleviating human suffering and thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of human dignity and peace in the world.” IFRC works to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people before, during and after disasters, health emergencies and other crises.- IFRC is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (Movement), together with its member National Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The work of IFRC is guided by the following fundamental principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.- The IFRC is led by its Secretary General, and has its Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The Headquarters are organized into three main Divisions: (i) National Society Development and Operations Coordination (NSDOC); (ii) Global Relations, Humanitarian Diplomacy and Digitalization (GRHDD); and (iii) Management Policy, Strategy and Corporate Services (MPSCS).- The IFRC has five regional offices in Africa, Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, Europe, and the Americas. The IFRC also has country cluster delegations and country delegations throughout the world. Together, the Geneva Headquarters and the field structure (regional, cluster and country) comprise the IFRC Secretariat.- The Under-Secretary General, Management Policy, Strategy and Corporate Services (USG-MPSCS), reports directly to the Secretary General, and leads the MPSCS Division. This Division consists of the Financial and Administrative Management Department (FAMD); the Human Resources Management Department (HRMD); the Humanitarian Services and Supply Chain Management Department (HSSCMD); and the Global Services Centre (GSC), Budapest (Hungary).- The Directors of FAMD, HRMD, HSSCMD and GSC report to the USG-MPSCS.- This internship opportunity is within the newly created Human Resources Advisory Services and Communities of Expertise Unit, HRMD, which is primarily located in Geneva, Switzerland. The intern will work with the Global Learning Team, report to the Learning Solutions Lead and also work under the guidance of the Senior Officer for Learning and Leadership Development.-
**Job Purpose**:
The main purpose of this internship is to provide support to the Global Learning Team with the implementation of a new learning experience platform to be running on top of the existing learning management system, the Learning Platform. Together these systems are a n important part of the IFRC’s learning ecosystem, which serves IFRC staff, National Societies, volunteers and staff, ICRC staff, as well as the general public with a special focus on humanitarian partners.

The Global Learning Team in responsible for the maintenance, support and development of IFRC Learning Platform, hosting thousands of online learning opportunities, such as self-paced online courses, communities of practice, learning pathways and videos available to IFRC staff, National Societies staff and volunteers, ICRC staff, and to the external public. It has currently more than 700,000 learners.

This internship will provide the selected individual with exposure to working in a dynamic, international, humanitarian organization, as well as an opportunity to put theory into practice in what comes to every stage of the learning process and learning resources lifecycle.

Cornerstone Learning Management System (LMS) is the solution hosting the IFRC Learning Platform. EdCast, a learning experience platform, was selected to be implemented in addition to the current learning management system. It offers a unified learning experience platform designed to enable end-to-end learner journeys spanning learning and skilling, as well as powerful curation tools and digital learning solutions implementation.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Support the maintenance of the current learning management system based on the necessary technical knowledge of the systems used and to be deployed, through available training, webinars, how to documentation and knowledge base.
- Support the Global Learning Team with the implementation of badges linked to designated learning pathways within the Learning Platform to be used as recognition of user learning achievements.
