**M&A Manager**:

Location: Europe Lead and support business acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestments, including partnerships involving equity participation to help drive continuing profitable growth for ABB. Be a partner and challenger for Division top management in the development and implementation of winning investment strategies. The role will report to the Business Development and Portfolio Manager of the Division.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Maintain and improve Divisions over-all M&A process starting from definition of strategic rationale and M&A focus areas, pre-assessment, business plan preparation, synergy identification, due diligence, and post-merger integration
- Identify M&A and Venture Investment targets through analysis of market information, competitors, valuations etc. and the collaboration and coordination with the Division’s Global Product Groups.
- Independently lead, plan, prepare, and execute transaction projects, with a focus on value maximization, risk minimization, quality, and certainty. Lead negotiation on projects jointly with corporate M&A and EL Venture teams
- Select and manage both internal and external resources in the various competence areas necessary in a global transaction starting for pre-assessment to post-merger integration, e.g., finance, accounting, strategy/commercial, pension, environmental, etc.
- Support the businesses in the post-merger integration planning and execution.
- Lead project teams and continuously coach colleagues and proactively support them in their personal and professional development within the function and ABB.
**Your background**:
- Bachelor’s/Master´s degree in Business, Science, or Engineering from a leading institution; MBA from top business schools strongly preferred
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience required, i.e., in a top tier consulting firm, and/or investment bank or private equity house, and/or corporate strategy/business development group, with at least some exposure to relevant sectors, e.g., Utilities / Rail, General Industrials / Manufacturing, M&A project experience
- Basic understanding of technical processes, operations and logistics is a plus
- Proven expertise and understanding of market requirements
- Deep knowledge of market analysis tools and methodologies
- Proven expertise in financial modelling, business plan analysis and business valuations and in preparation and support of workshops in strategy and business development
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; experience in writing and delivering presentations, and communicating ideas and plans to senior management and executives, leadership, and stakeholders’ management skills
