**Technical Responsibilities**
- Ensuring all procurement business processes are in line with financial and industry regulations and guidelines.
- Ensure continued supply for all materials purchased by the site through evaluation of and sourcing from reliable suppliers.
- Serve as a change leader within the department and site.
- Develop material and component contingency plans as the business requires.
- Oversee the development of standard costs for all materials and develop freight and material cost projections.
- Prepare material quotations for future business opportunities.
- Negotiate and / or oversee contracts that cover several years and represent purchasing commitments.
- Identify procurement process improvements and sponsor implementation of solutions.
- Track and report on monthly group metrics.
- Seek opportunities to negotiate price decreases and identify and quantify opportunities for cost savings (materials, VMI, freight, etc).
- Evaluate and make changes to the Purchasing policies and procedures to increase purchasing effectiveness; educate internal customers on these policies and procedures.
- Oversee the import and export functions to ensure compliance with Customs Regulations.
- Minimize inventory investment while meeting 100% customer service.
**Quality**
- Ensures implementation of and adherence to current GMP rules, Quality policies, procedures and instructions for his/her area of responsibility.
- Ensures contribution of his/her organizational unit to continuous quality improvement initiatives and deviation reporting and follow-up.
**EHSS**
- Ensures implementation of and adherence to EHSS legal requirements, rules, policies, procedures and instructions for his/her area of responsibility.
- Ensures contribution of his/her organizational unit to EHSS initiatives and issues as well as near miss reporting and follow-up.

**Position Qualifications**
**Education**
- BS/BA required in Supply Chain, Engineering, or other business-related field
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures
- Computer literacy (ERP/SAP, MRP, MS Package)
**Experience & Competencies**
- Minimum of 7 years progressive Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, pharmaceutical preferred
- Expertise in enterprise business systems and business software (SAP, eBR / MES, TrackWise, DMS, etc.)
Knowledge of working capital and operational investment
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and projects
- Understanding of ERP’s role in the business and of Planning, Purchasing, Inventory, Operations, Finance, and Quality transactions
- Ability to pull data and compile to formulate improvement initiatives across the business
- Ability to inspire, foster innovation, collaborate, and effectively manage cross-functional teams
- Must effectively drive a Commitment of Excellence into the organization.
- Concise and effective written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Strong computer skills (MS Package, Ariba, etc.)
- Possess excellent interpersonal, analytical / problem solving, and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Highly proficient in negotiation, business conduct, and business law
- Knowledgeable of commodity markets, price fluctuations, and effect on material purchases
- Effective leadership / cross-functional team management skills
**Additional Requirements**
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices
- Appropriate professional qualification would be beneficial (e.g., ASCM CPIM);
- Experience identifying and executing lean, process improvement, and operational excellence initiatives
