**Your mission**:
The Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland is offering a position as laboratory technician to support the team in their scientific endeavors. The research focus of the group is related to the persistence and transmission of pathogenic human viruses, particularly influenza A virus in the air, and enteroviruses in various water sources.

**Main duties and responsibilities include**:

- Technical support of multiple scientific projects (predominant focus will be the influenza virus project).
- Implementation of biological experiments upon instructions, with consistent use of sterile working technique.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Participation in laboratory maintenance duties.
- Regular record keeping and reporting to scientific group members and the principal investigator.

**Your profile**:

- Diploma of a lab technician school, Ecole cantonale de laborant/e or equivalent.
- Excellent record keeping, experimental documentation, and organizational skills are required.
- Detail-oriented and highly motivated.
- Sterile working techniques and good microbiological skills are required.
- Expertise in virology-based techniques (cell-culturing, viral handling and amplification, nucleic acid isolations,
- RT-qPCR, plaque assay, etc).
- Openness to learn and develop new techniques and/or protocols.
- Prior experience as laboratory research technician would be a plus but is not mandatory.
- Language requirement: English
