The GC DTO will be responsible to oversee and operationalize the legal team supporting Group Data, Technology and Operations as well as the Customer Office with a focus on
strategically enabling the business to deliver its objectives.
We are looking for a hands-on executive who will go beyond “checking the boxes” and be creative, agile, pragmatic and forward looking to support innovative business initiatives in one of the most important strategic areas for Zurich Insurance.

**What you will do**
- _Strategic Business Partner:_ Lead the legal strategy with regard to data (e.g. data analytics, big data, cloud services, cyber security, use of medical data, life sciences), technology (AI/ML, robots, distributed ledger technology, fintech, digital assets, protection of intellectual property rights), operations (e.g. use of platforms / ecosystems, sourcing, capability building, procurement) and the Customer Office (e.g. trademarks) through creating customer-orientated solutions to fulfill Zurich’s purpose in #CreatingABrighterFutureTogether
- _Collaboration:_ Close interaction with Zurich business units globally through effective senior relationships and managing complex situations
- _Transformation:_ Create a vision for Zurich’s legal data team and foster a data-driven orientation and transformation of the company to drive performance
- _Leadership_: Lead a high-performing team of specialized lawyers through best-in-class team building combined with effective operational management
- _Member of the Legal Executive Team:_ Provide thought leadership, being a member of the Legal Executive Team and reporting directly to the Group General Counsel
- _Company representation:_ Governmental Agencies, industry associations and others
- _Location_: The role will be based at the headquarters of the Zurich Insurance Group in Zurich, Switzerland.

**What you bring**
- Data & Analytics and Technology is your passion
- Law degree and Bar exam
- Postgraduate studies/foreign degree (e.g., LL.M.) or similar work experience abroad
- 15+ years of relevant professional experience in an international corporate environment with global footprint
- 10+ years of experience in leading diverse teams
- Hands-on leader with broad and deep experience in data as well as challenging, cutting-edge technology environment at the forefront of technological development
- Experience in financial services industry/consumer industry is an asset but not a requirement, same applies to IP rights
- Distinct ability to outline complex matters in a simple, logical, and conclusive manner, and the ability to effectively communicate with senior management
- Start-up mindset as well as solution
