Overview:
**Responsibilities**:

- Build and lead Monte Rosa’s intellectual property function to strategically engineer a value-driving portfolio of intellectual property and to guide and support the company’s research and development activities
- Lead multiple internal stakeholders, outside counsel, and counterparties to ensure timely preparation, review, negotiation, execution, tracking, and management of company’s intellectual property assets
- Lead construction and management of legal landscape monitoring to guide and support the company’s research and development activities
- Provide legal counsel to management and directors, particularly in the area of intellectual property law and drug research and development
- Provide general legal and corporate governance support to Monte Rosa AG
- Support the company’s General Counsel in areas of US and Swiss corporate law, securities law, and corporate governance law - Support the company’s Head of Contracts
- Support company business development and due diligence activities
- Provide legal support to external corporate partnerships and collaborations
- Manage and build corporate policies in line with research and development needs

Qualifications:

- Licensed/qualified European Patent attorney with at least 15 years of relevant in-house legal experience
- Ph.D. in relevant scientific discipline
- Experience counselling clients on legal issues, particularly pertaining to intellectual property law
- Demonstrated business acumen and sound judgment
- Demonstrated manager and mentor
- Ability to adapt and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Self-directed and proactive with an ability to work both independently and within a team environment across various functional groups and levels within the organization
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills, excellent analytical and organizational abilities, and strong written and verbal communication skills
