Supports Head BD&L in all BD&L operational and strategic activities, monitoring and managing existing processes and leading continuous improvement culture to improve and simplify wherever possible. Acts as Secretary to the Pharma Deal Leadership Team (DLT) and Pharma BD&L leadership team (LT); leads oversight of Pharma BD&L compliance and performance metrics; Develops and implements effective communication strategies for Global Pharma BD&L community.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support development (with Head Pharma BD&L) of Pharma BD&L Vision, Strategy and Objectives
- Act as Secretary to Pharma Deal Leadership Team (DLT)
- Drive and organizes the Pharma BD&L LT agenda, Work individually & collectively with the LT members to seek input and propose topics to leverage the meetings strategically, supporting proactive and creative approaches to fostering strong LT team spirit
- Jointly responsible (with Head Transactions, Pharma BD&L) for BD&L Process Guide, including updates
- Lead process to monitor compliance with BD&L Process Guide and reports to LT on quarterly basis
- Propose and gain support for initiatives to increase BD efficiency and effectiveness. Facilitate best practice sharing and developing culture of organizational learning.
- Develop existing/new key performance metrics
- Communicate with the BD&L community in a reliable and constructive manner; enhance collaboration by demonstrating good listening skills and breaking down barriers to teamwork at all organizational levels.

**Minimum requirements**

What you'll bring to the role:

- Advanced degree or equivalent education/degree in life science/healthcare or MBA degree
- 10 +years of pharmaceutical industry experience - or similar experience as a consultant within the pharmaceutical industry. Demonstrated leadership and accomplishment in operational/and or project management
- Working/good knowledge of basic biological sciences/drug development/project management
- Considerable organizational awareness (e.g. inter-relationship of departments, business priorities), including ability to build collaborative relationships cross-functionally
- Highly efficient and customer focused communicator, both in verbal and written terms, including ability to work professionally in meetings with very senior members of Novartis
