**EVENT MANAGER**

THE COMPANY

Expat Expo is an admission-free event that brings together various local, English-speaking businesses, organizations, museums, clubs, and service providers in Switzerland. The event is designed for businesses to showcase their goods and services to English-speaking residents under one roof.

THE JOB

This is a full-time remote role for an Event Manager at Expat Expo. The Event Manager will be responsible for planning and organizing the event, coordinating with vendors and participants, managing logistics, and overseeing event operations. They will also be responsible for marketing and promoting the event, managing budgets, and ensuring a smooth and successful execution of the event.

Veterans will know; this is different from the typical 9-5

The role necessitates organisational flair, attention to detail, as well as a creative streak. It also requires a mixture of office-based admin and onsite physical work. There will be daily meetings, regular updates, interaction and networking with clients, venues, and visitors.

We currently host 4 Expos per year - Zurich, Geneva, Basel and Zug - but there is room for expansion. Each Expo is a one-day event, which is currently always held on a Sunday.

IMPORTANT

Expat Expo is a commercial enterprise. The business exists to provide a needed service to the expat community, but also to make a profit. Demonstrable experience in generating turnover and profit will be highly valued to your success in the recruitment process.

**Event Manager Responsibilities**:

- Short and long-term planning of event management and coordination
- Budget management
- Setting and achieving event and sales targets
- Assist the Communications Manager in strategizing, creating and managing online campaigns targeting both exhibitors and visitors
- Assemble creative and innovative event attractions based on internal capabilities or outsourced to qualified vendors
- Manage relationship with all event-related third parties such as venues and suppliers
- Train, supervise, and work with temporary event staff, to book event and catering functions, physically set up the event, as well as the planning, merchandising and execution of the functions
- Evaluate each event post-hoc, and create a summary of positives, negatives, and recommendations of optimisations
- Build long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of sales objectives

**Event Manager Requirements**:

- Swiss-based with a working residence permit, and a clean driving license
- Proven experience as a business-focused event manager
- Familiarity with marketing; digital and physical, UX and design
- . German, French or Italian a bonus.
- Exceptional ability to work without oversight.
- Demonstrable time, task, and resource management skills.
- Fluent in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills, in English
- Ability to plan, and keep track of, multiple projects and deadlines
- Willingness to continue building skills through educational opportunities

- Knowledge of the local English-speaking community in Switzerland is a big plus

THE OFFER

As we cover the whole of Switzerland, your location can also be anywhere in Switzerland. You can therefore expect some flexibility in working location and hours. However, this as a full-time role, with a necessity to be in the head office in Pfäffikon, Schwyz, every so often (likely 4-6 times per year, depending on the number of Expos held).

In addition, there will be a requirement to work on 4 Sundays every year (currently), with time off in lieu.

In return, you can expect a good basic salary and bonus. This will be reviewed annually; this is a meritocracy - we will set targets, and as the company performs better, so too will your remuneration.
