**Your mission**:
The ENAC School of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences and Engineering joins forces of key research domains to help ensure a sustainable living environment for humanity through a sound and respectful integration of human activities into the biosphere. The faculty grasps major challenges such as climate change, global digitalization, and rapid urbanization in its entirety whilst considering economic, technical, and social demands.

The Direction of EPFL supports Open science as the ”future of research”, which drives scientific excellence and increases research impact. The degree and quality of open sharing of research outputs is expected to be an important measure of academic performance in the future. It is also a response to scientific funders and publishers, who are increasingly requiring adherence with best practices in research and considerations with regard to scientific integrity and social responsibility.

To implement this ambitious Open Science strategy at the Faculty level, ENAC is seeking an enthusiastic individual to drive these efforts concretely, implement the strategy and contribute to the development of innovative new avenues with lasting impact. This fixed term position (1 year, renewable for a second year) aims to set up robust processes and practices, fostering an evolution of the culture, and ensuring lasting impact in the faculty.

**Main duties and responsibilities include**:
**Strategy**:

- Support ENAC laboratories in implementing Open Science practices
- Set up concrete robust processes to facilitate open science as a new norm and ensure lasting uptake of open science practices.
- Showcase and valorize Open Science contributions by ENAC laboratories
- Further develop services for and culture of open science for ENAC School
- Liaise between the ENAC community / the ENAC dean’s office and important EPFL stakeholders with regard to Open Science (e.g. the EPFL advisor on Open Science, EPFL Open Science Strategic Committee, the EPFL library)

**Goal 1 - Communicate & Showcase**:

- Open Science webpage maintenance & update: Conduct regular interviews for “Open Research Highlights”
- maintain Open Scripts and software catalog up to date
- Develop “Open Science Funding” highlights - to showcase of ENAC Funding highlights and OS webpage + advertise it / ensure that ENAC laboratories participate in these calls
- Connect Open science success stories with media outlets

**Goal 2 - Open Access**:

- OA metrics monitoring (e.g., re-run analysis of impact of Open Access _Read&Publish_ agreements with 2020 + 2021 data)
- Ensure OA policy compliance, in liaison with the EPFL Library
- Assess gaps in OA (through surveying ENAC researchers’ knowledge about OA funding support, and analysizing data on publications/journals
- Raise awareness about OA funding possibility to ENAC researchers community

**Goal 3 - Education & Activate student community around Open Science**:

- Support organization of student-led events related to OS (OS Summer school)
- Organize events such as lunch talks, conferences, and hackathons - jointly with student groups (e.g. invite Susanna Sansone..)
- Review of existing Open Science MOOCs/Educational resources and showcase them
- TA or lecturer for “Research Skills for Engineers
- Explore with section directors how Open Science topics could be integrated more broadly in the curriculum

**Goal 4 - Open Research Data /Open Software - Support ORD tools**:

- Support ORD Expert Group for Services and Infrastructure (EG-SI)
- Conduct surveys, technical and operational analyses of ORD services and infrastructure
- Compare data management and open science-related tools on the market
- Propose, evaluate and (co-)implement various Open Science research tools and solutions that support the daily needs of ENAC researchers

**Goal 5 - Tech transfer & Activate researchers community around Open Science**:

- Develop knowledge/classification of Open business models
- Organiz and propose wirkshops for the research community: events such as lunch talks, conferences and hackathons to disseminate stories of success and failures
