The National ORD Strategy Council (StraCo) is a high-level science policy body of Switzerland, created to oversee the implementation of the Swiss Open Research Data Strategy. It is composed of top-level decisions makers from key institutions: the presidents of ETHZ and EPFL, the director of SNSF, the president of Swiss Academies, and 5 rectors or other senior executives from cantonal universities.
- As an independent governance body formed jointly by the four principal national research actors (ETH Board, SNSF, Swissuniversities, and Swiss Academies), the StraCo is an innovation in Swiss education, research and innovation (ERI) governance. As such, it ambitions to demonstrate novel capabilities for coordination, collaboration, and common policymaking in the space of Open Research Data / open science.
- The StraCo is advised and supported by a Coordination Group (CoG) formed of expert staff from the institutions represented in the StraCo. It does not have an independent secretariat.
**Scientific Collaborator (ORD Policy)**:
**Your mission**:
- Reporting to the chair of the CoG, you will support the agenda of the StraCo as well as the work of individual CoG members or task groups, by providing policy expertise and support. You will also facilitate and/or liaise with entities in the StraCo system to ensure alignment of purpose, agenda coordination, and flow of information.
**Main duties and responsibilities include**:
- Provide advice to the members of the CoG, and to internal and external stakeholders.
- Write briefings, reports, and documents; deliver oral briefings.
- Manage documents and ensure information flow with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support and coordinate meetings, including diary management.
- Carry out consultations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Gather and analyze data and information.
- Develop expertise in ORD/open science policy, as well as in relation to relevant politics, governance, legislation, and institutions in Switzerland and abroad.
- Undertake or commission research.
- Provide administrative support.
**Your profile**:
- Relevant work and/or research experience, or a degree/specialisation, in political science/science policy, or in research institution administration.
- Experience of, or interested in, open science, and/or research data (digital) infrastructures and services.
- Analytical and with excellent research skills.
- Excellent language skills in English, German and French. Applicants below CEFR level B2 in any will not be considered.
- Exceptionally well-organized and capable of working on multiple concurrent tasks.

- Your will be affiliated to EPFL, which is the institution of the chairperson of the CoG. Your primary workplace will be in Lausanne.
