- Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Lead and build the communications strategy and capabilities for designated parts of business, anticipate and manage risk to Novartis reputation; advise management of reputational risk associated with specific activity.
- Provide expertise in a single communications area and broad knowledge of several diverse areas.
- Lead the successful implementation of communications activities in key projects and programs in the relevant business areas. Relevant business areas may include Development Pipeline, In-Market Portfolio Medicines, Operations (manufacturing), Corporate reputation topics such as Global Health, ESG (Environment, Social Responsibility & Governance) and Company Culture, Data and Digital
- Establish and develop relationships with key external stakeholders, mapping target outlets, identifying key individuals and developing productive and mutually beneficial business relationships for the long term
- Media targeting and use of metrics to increase outreach effectiveness
- Selection and management of external agencies to drive performance
- Counsel and coach senior management in all aspects of communications and develop communications messages around key programs and initiatives.
- Oversee the management and development of teams globally and allocate communication resources and personnel to meet business objectives and coordinate communication teams to ensure implementation of strategy/action plans.

**Minimum requirements**
- What you'll bring to the role:
- 10+ years of working experience in communication, in particular in dealing with top tier media stakeholders
- Experience in executive communications and reputation management
- Ability to collaborate across boundaries
- Proficiency in English (fluent in both written and spoken language), proficiency in German is a plus.
