This role helps to ensure that Novartis has the talent and skills to deliver on its purpose of reimagining medicine as a focused medicines company powered by technology leadership in R&D, world-class commercialization, global access and data science. The role maximizes the impact of talent management across Novartis, for both associates and the organization, by executing our clear, focused and innovative Talent strategy, aligned with the People & Organization strategy.
Critical for success is to build and maintain trusted relationships with members of the (1) Talent Leader-ship Team, (2) Unit TODI and Talent Leaders and (3) Talent & People Solutions Leadership Team. The role reports to the Global Head of Talent, Markus Graf, who in turn reports to the Chief Talent & People Solutions Officer, Tripti Jha. Close collaboration with other Talent Management team members, as well as Talent Acquisition & Staffing, Learning, D&I, Rewards, and many others is essential to create impact.
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Strengthen Novartis’s capability to access, grow and engage talent with the right skills and capabilities to propel our business priorities for the long-term with fewer, better solutions
- Design and execute enterprise products and solutions that drive the One Novartis Talent strategy as an Expert with an advanced skillset in the Talent Management center of Expertise
- Support executive-level talent review and succession planning processes to ensure a strong pipeline of talent is in place for senior leadership and other critical positions across Novartis
- Drive implementation of and provide thought-leadership and expert coaching to P&O colleagues in units on differentiated Talent Management solutions that align talent to value for impact
- Contribute to the execution on the Talent Strategy and its 5 interconnected big bets that are informed by business needs and endorsed by the Executive Committee and Board of Directors
- Measure the return on investment and effectiveness of talent practices and articulate opportunities for continuous improvement and higher levels of productivity

**Minimum requirements**
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Multiple years of proven work experience in strategic talent management and demonstrated measurable results in a large scale multinational corporation, regardless of industry
- Proven ability to navigate in a matrix environment and lead others without formal authority, mobilize collaboration and effective teamwork across units and key geographies
- Strong senior executive engagement, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with demonstrable ability to simplify solutions and create alignment across geographies and units
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while continually identifying linkages with other Centers of Expertise within the wider P&O function
- Strong business acumen and commercial mindset, interpersonal, organizational and project management skills and resilience to meet multiple priorities and deadlines
- Use of data to analyze business, talent and workforce issues and ability to tell simple, clear compelling stories,. Ability to identify the root cause of problems and opportunities.
