- You will lead the tax organization for all Sandoz entities in Switzerland with a focus on direct tax while ensuring alignment on indirect taxes. You will have responsibility for Swiss Tax related financial planning and profit monitoring, legal entity structure optimization, YE / Quarterly closing, Group Tax disclosure, compliance & risk management as well as people development. As a business partner you will coordinate tax strategy with local and global stakeholders through evaluation of the impact of global tax projects on the Swiss HQ entities.
- Key responsibilities:
- Ensure timely direct tax filings and establish a solid, reliable and efficient tax compliance process; Perform periodical health checks in relation to tax compliance, design remedy actions and key controls
- Manage tax audits, information requests and correspondence with tax authorities & maintain and govern a good working relationship with tax authorities at cantonal and federal level
- Own financial monitoring (Balance Sheet and P&L) impacting tax matters & review and sign-off tax provisions of Swiss entities. This includes leading YE closing process with guidance on tax risk provisioning - local and global risk impacting HQ - aligned the respective stakeholders in business or Group Tax
- Proactively review and tax-optimize intercompany relationships and guide Global Business Units to optimize and simplify Group Structure in coordination and collaboration with Group Tax including provision of support related to operational transfer pricing matters
- Act as a business partner for all Swiss based business units and functions and advise on business development deals, structuring/restructuring projects from a Swiss tax perspective aligned with Group Tax and the Group tax strategy
- Represent Sandoz in Industry Circles and Business Associations in coordination with other Group Tax Team members and maintain a professional tax network internally and externally
- Manage local notification requirements for Country-by-Country Reporting
- Monitor national and international tax environment and ensure compliance with local tax law in alignment with internal stakeholder

**Minimum requirements**
- What you'll bring to the role:

- ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- University degree in Tax, Legal, Finance or Economics
- 7+ years’ experience of tax practice: in big 4 firm (or equivalent), leaving as Manager/Senior Manager including 3+ years’ experience as in-house tax professional
- Excellent knowledge and solid experience of national (Swiss) and international corporation tax and transfer pricing laws
- Strong tax technical expertise to operationalize and implement tax planning projects and to defend them in tax audits
- Fluent in English and preferably German

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- Additional qualification in a Tax or Finance related area (Tax Expert, Tax Lawyer, CTA)
- Pharma experience
