When we put our heads together, we can do brilliant work. And when we do brilliant work, we can achieve remarkable things for patients as we positively transform healthcare. We are looking for a Head Patient Centred Outcomes (PCO) Centre of Excellence.
The Head PCO Centre of Excellence will create and lead cross-divisional Centers of Excellence (CoE) for Patient-Reported Outcomes (PROs) and Pediatric Development (PeD) within Clinical Development (CD) responsible for mastering cross-functional PROs and PeD knowledge in different functions of CD. You will improve and drive alignment of activities among Franchises and Global Program Teams to elevate PROs and PeD activities to a level of industry leadership. This role will represent Novartis externally in Health Authorities and payers’ discussions. You will advise and/or indirectly influences Global Program Heads, Global Program Clinical Heads, and HEOR directors.
The position can be based in Basel, Switzerland, Dublin, Ireland or London, UK.
**Major responsibilities**:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Accountable for the functional excellence in PRO and Pediatric development and implementation across the organization
- Lead the multi-stakeholder Pediatric Clinical Group, its structure, resources, and implementation plan, as a focal point for pediatric expert knowledge development, experienced advisory body, and dissemination of standard processes/shared findings/DLU peds curriculum
- Lead multidisciplinary teams of senior functional experts focusing on facilitating and monitoring of development and implementation of PROs strategy in individual Global Program Teams
- Accountable for coordinating PRO and PeD content in development programs and ensuring quality inputs for regulatory and market access purposes
- Drive capability building for the CD community encompassing all major aspects in PRO and Pediatric Development, demonstrating cross-functional exchange of expertise with key internal and external partners.
- Establish short
- and long-range vision and strategy for PROs development and implementation.
- Leverage knowledge, experience and understanding of external partners, internal capability to develop a compelling and innovative PROs vision for the overall company and for individual programs/brands.
- Drive and/or anticipate internal and external changes in PROs requirements to maintain a constantly, innovative output in the area.
- Minimize redundant use of resources and avoid need for redeveloping PROs instruments for newly established projects.
- Interact with management Boards (i.e. DCN, IMB) to secure internal buy in overall strategy.
- Collaborate with Global Program Teams to secure individual program internal buy.
- Collaborate with NIBR to develop a strategy of early-stage implementation of PROs and Pediatric Plans from PoC stage.
- Drive integration of “digital development” into the PROs process (ePROs)
- Lead full integration of digital solutions to collect and aggregate PROs into development process.
- Lead discussion with HAs and payers about acceptability and value of ePROs

What you'll bring to the role:

- Advanced life science degree preferably medical degree
- Minimum 15 years relevant pharmaceutical industry experience preferably across several fields
- Profound knowledge of the global drug development process spanning from research to commercialization with emphasis on projects requiring PROs in their development
- Inspiring leader capable of fostering a sense of belonging without formal authority
- 10+ years experience in international and multidisciplinary drug development teams
- Strong organization skills and process orientation
- Expert in communication and Information management.
