Executive Director, Patient Engagement

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Drive the build out, expansion and lead the Center of Excellence (CoE) for Patient Engagement (PE) including overall budget responsibility. Deliver the 3-year Big Bold Objective for the CoE.
- Contributes effectively to the Patient-Focused Drug Development (PFDD) process. Lead the Development and constant evolution of an enterprise-wide patient insights hub, with an enterprise-wide methodology of gathering and analyzing insights (including Artificial Intelligence) across all Novartis units and manage a Patient Insights Navigator (PIN) platform as a sustainable repository for patient insights accessible to all associates who need patient insights to design Research & Development (R&D) and commercial strategies and execution plans. Continue to rollout the i4i deep-dive insights methodology.
- Ensure PE representation on the Global Transparency Board in partnership with Ethics Risk and Compliance (ERC) to ensure companywide endorsed PE governance frameworks and the accuracy, quality and timeliness of the Company wide Transfer of Value (ToV) disclosure and reporting.
- Thought leadership and strategic advisor of PE in the development of standards and processes. Leads the development, implementation, oversight, monitoring and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide unified business standards processes and guidance for PE activities
- Integrate existing companywide standards, processes, and tools (currently fragmented across Novar-tis including Gene Therapies ) into one standardized approach applicable for PE in all functions, units and countries. (Global Drug Development (GDD), Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR), etc.)
- Defines, provides oversight and monitoring of service levels contracted by the PE functions, including service quality of shared services at CONEXT Hyderabad. Lead the design of a global Shared Ser-vices catalogue for PE including operational tasks provided by internal or external service providers for the execution of activities owned by Patient Engagement Therapeutic Area Leads (PETALs) or PE activities of other teams, training and development of SSC resources, quality assurance and customer inclusion
- Builds the enterprise-wide PE capability framework (PE Academy) and architecture to deliver the knowledge, expertise, and capabilities to ensure consistent, systematic and ethical patient engagement across Novartis for the PE function and the entire Novartis organization. Develop and evolve the organizational impact measurement dashboard for PE (Patient Engagement Impact Measurement (PEIM)) including embedding the Commitment to Patients and Caregivers and the PE strategy (5 Decision Points framework). Establish an enterprise-wide data retrieval system from early re-search through to launch, for regular metrics collection, analytics, and internal and public progress reporting.
- Manage relationships to key external stakeholders in PE including the interface management of third-party tools. Represents Novartis in multi stakeholder alliances for the external capacity and capability building of patient organizations.
- As a strategic partner to members of Patient Engagement Leadership Team (PELT) advises, consults, and holds teams’ members accountable for execution in line with standards.
- Represent Novartis in external stakeholder groups (by nomination through the Global Head PE)
- Keeps the PELT up to date on external trends in the PE ecosystem with a variety of screening and communication methods (e.g. Patient Engagement and Advocacy News (PEAN) - news screener, regulator and payor landscape watch, etc.) and feeds back implications to the PELT
- Close collaboration with the PE Strat Office around key project, change mgmt., comms as well as governance and PE financials

**Minimum requirements**
- Relevant degree (Masters, postgraduate) in Science’s (public health, biology or similar)., and working qualifications in the sector
- Proficiency in English required.
- Minimum 15+ years of relevant leadership experience in Multinationals in a pharma environment
- Minimum 10 years experience working in Patient Engagement combined with experience in developm
