Intern - Documents Management [temporary]

The internship is located in the Distribution Unit, Design and Production Section, Production and Support Service, Division of Conference Management, Department for General Assembly and Conference Management, Geneva.
The internship will start as soon as possible for a period of two months and may be extended, up to a maximum period of six months.
The internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five (5) days per week (40 hours) under the supervision of the Deputy Chief of the Distribution Section in the Production and Support Service.
**Responsibilities**:
Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Chief and working closely with the team, the intern will assist with the following duties:
- Participates in planning and reporting of Distribution services.
- Assists in the various distribution activities of official UN documents for conferences and meetings held at UNOG.
- Participates in the development and implementation of new initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of document distribution processes.
- Assists in providing Helpdesk services to conference attendees.
- Supports the documents distribution team in their conference support functions.
- Assists in business analysis/technical analysis for new requirements to be implemented in the section.
- Assists in preparing data analytics reports using Excel and Power BI.
- Participates in the testing of new products and functionalities in systems used by the Distribution Section.
- Performs other functions and duties as required.

Education
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
(a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and,
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Work Experience
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in English of French is required.
