As the operator of platforms that are used by 100’000 people every day we are obsessed with our products. The Director Product is more than obsessed - s/he is possessed by them.
**What you’ll do**
You will shape all aspects of the products and services that are at the very center of our value proposition to users. Together with your teams of researchers, designers and product managers you will identify and solve users' needs through an iterative, build-measure-learn approach. If Marketing is on a mission to convert new-goods heretics to the cause of the second-hand, Product is here to keep them loyal to that cause.
To craft the perfect product is only half the challenge - making consumers use it, over and over again, is the other half. The team under your leadership will thus create product experiences that include all sorts of nudges and hooks (on
- and off-platform) that generate addiction and drive frequency of usage. And when those are not enough, they will throw in financial incentives, in a targeted and programmatic fashion, to turn even the more resistant, casual user into an aficionado.
Creating value goes hand in hand with capturing value. You will define and implement the pricing strategy for our products and ensure we properly monetize the services we provide to our customers, be them sellers, buyers or advertisers.

You have experience building, scaling and monetizing digital marketplaces that cater to hundreds of thousands of users and can’t wait to do it all over again, leveraging the learnings from your past experiences and avoiding the mistakes you - and others before you - have already made.

“Product folks” typically have to choose between the “startup dream” where they have full flexibility to craft a product but no users to show it to, or the “reach game“ in which the product is pretty much given but at least they have a large user base to leverage. Beware though, this is no walk in the park. We do have our fair share of challenges: from rebuilding our tech platform to ensuring that our marketplaces’ value proposition remains relevant for users who have plenty of alternatives nowadays. And as the paint is still fresh on our newly formed product team, you will still have the chance to shape your product organization the way you think is right. Finally, you will do all this in a company that aims to double its value over the next few years, with all the opportunities and challenges that come with such an ambitious goal.
