**What you’ll do**

The Patient Engagement & Healthcare Transformation Lead develops and implements our external partnership strategy, mainly focussing on patient advocacy, and leads projects that transform the delivery of healthcare in Switzerland (e.g. by accelerating early detection of disease and treatment). The role will initially focus on oncology and then expand to further disease areas. The Patient Engagement & Healthcare Transformation Lead works with different business units in a passionate and highly dynamic cross-functional team. The role is responsible to ensure that our partners' perspectives and needs, especially those of the patients, become a pivotal part of AstraZeneca’s culture and to foster a more patient centric working culture. You will be part of the Swiss Corporate Affairs Team (n=3), and report to the Corporate Affairs Director Switzerland.

**Other responsibilities will include**:

- Serve as the patient advocacy group relationship lead across AstraZeneca’s disease areas, accountable for the continuous development and improvement of AstraZeneca relationships with patient groups, relevant organizations and stakeholders.
- Provide an effective framework for AstraZeneca colleagues across functions to interact and collaborate with relevant patient advocacy groups/organisations/partners. Collaborate with other functional advocacy leads (regional, global) in establishing local standard-operating-procedures and processes.
- Drive the conceptualization and implementation of targeted signature initiatives and campaigns that engage and align patient groups in support of patient education, engagement, capacity building and reform of health system policies that improve patients’ access. Flagship campaigns may be multi-year, multi-organisation and multi-disciplinary reaching different audiences and leverage a variety of communications and government relations disciplines (evidence generation, events, inquiries, digital campaigning, summits, roundtables, symposia, advisory boards, seminars, media engagements etc.)
- Serve as a centre of excellence for the patient advocacy function. Provide expert counsel to colleagues. Provide coaching and expertise to colleagues in developing relationships with relevant contacts/groups.
- Support inhouse capability to pull
- through key stakeholder insights, perspectives and testimonials for internal and external opportunities including leadership meetings and launches.
- Budget responsibility

**Essential for the role**
- +8 years of experience in the (preferably Swiss) pharmaceutical industry and or the healthcare sector.
- High degree of compassion and soft skills to meaningfully and credibly interact with patient organizations and key stakeholders. Ability to translate the patient’s view into actionable insights for AstraZeneca.
- Ability and hunger to quickly familiarize with scientific, medical and economic data as well as legal/regulatory frameworks and compliance guidelines.
- Strategic thinking and good understanding for the Swiss health system and its political dynamics and stakeholders.
- Existing external network in Switzerland in AstraZeneca’s disease areas.
- First-rate coordination, collaboration, organization and multi-tasking skills.
